Materials

About

We are constantly searching for the best materials for our products. These are tested in the workshop for their applicability.
We also support partners, that are involved in material research, in building prototypes for them.

Leather

We want to significantly improve in this area and avoid chrome-tanned leather completely. New innovative partners offer us great alternatives. For example, we want to use leather that is purely vegetable tanned using olive leaf extract. These leathers have a fine olive scent, which confirms this special tanning process. More information can be found at Wet-Green, who holds this patent.

Alternatives to leather

For many decades, companies have been searching for materials that can replace animal skin.
Until now, leather alternatives have often consisted of synthetic, i.e. petroleum-based and not necessarily sustainable materials. But there's a lot happening in the vegan-leather scene. For example mushroom leather in particular seems to be one of the most popular alternatives that have been developt lately. Currently we are taking a closer look at this material to find out if it can replace classic leather.

Textiles

A very important material in our workshop is the loden fabric. Many models are combined with this material. This is a woven fabric made of 100% wool and is very robust and functional . Our inner linings are purely natural materials such as cotton or linen.
